Duties, Responsibilities and Requirements of a Customer Service Coordinator
General Summary: Ensure a safe and effective operation in the area assigned. Inspire others through motivation and leadership. Position functions as a lead worker, performing essentially the same work as those supervised, and are responsible for training, instructing and scheduling work within the unit. This position may have input into performance evaluations.Accuracy is important. Duties and responsibilities are assigned by others and performed under occasional direction. Completed tasks are reviewed for accuracy by a work leader or supervisor. Position has the authority to make decisions or suggestions based on rules or procedures; more difficult decisions are referred to higher levels to be resolved. Position is responsible for direct interaction with customers of the immediate work area and must assess and satisfy their needs through actual assistance and/or providing information from readily available sources. Decisions are short-range and affect only a small group or work unit; occasionally other operations, services, individuals, customers or activities may be affected.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate activities on ramp to ensure aircraft arriving and departing from assigned gate areas are serviced within company and departmental objectives
Proactively plan resource allocation at gate area to maximize efficiency in staff and equipment (such as fueling, water, window washing, baggage load and unload)
Lead underwing activities based on established procedures and operational objectives
Ensure all arriving flights are met and parked
Ensure employees in assigned area are working in a safe environment
Perform FOD walks
Inspect equipment to ensure safe operation
Monitor and lead employees to ensure proper policy and procedures are being followed
Report employee performance feedback (positive and developmental) to supervisor or manager
Identify, reduce and explain delays
Ensure paperwork for flight is correct and stored properly: Manifest, Fuel slips, Load slips
Position explains and/or instructs individuals in well established policies, practices, precedents, and procedures, etc.
Position occasionally works with others inside of the immediate department or attends meetings to become informed of issues that will impact work
Problems encountered have usually been dealt with before and are solved using standard procedures
Position plans and organizes the activities related to performing duties specific to the job
Assist with complaints or irate customers
Work overtime as necessary
