Management is open to filling the two Senior Navigates Help Desk Analyst positions at either the Charleston, WV or Houston, TX office locations. The opening is posted at the Senior level, however, management is willing to fill at at lower level in the Help Desk Analyst job family based on qualifications.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE:
To lead NiSource-s customer service efforts by supporting a business processes team that will provide seamless interaction between external customers and both internal and external IT resources in order to ensure that state of the art, market driven, nomination, scheduling, billing, contracting, and electronic bulletin board systems are designed, implemented, and maintained. This position will report to the Manager, Navigates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responds to, diagnoses, and logs technical and business problems or questions for the pipeline transaction management system (currently Navigates). Must be proficient in problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up procedures. Assigns and administers applications security, and educates customer on security policy and procedures. Responsible for testing and ensuring that SOX guidelines for internal security are met or exceeded. Thoroughly test applications to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects. Prepares and maintains system and user documentation. Organizes and conducts complex training and educational programs for both internal and external customers. Must support customers in a rotation of after-hours support.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Analysis, Computer Science, Engineering or related area plus four or more years of relevant industry experience (or comparable knowledge acquired through ten plus years of experience) is preferred.

Must possess effective call-handling skills.

Excellent interpersonal/team-building skills are mandatory.

Strong analytical skills are mandatory.

Strong written and verbal skills are mandatory.

Demonstrated excellent customer service skills (both internally and externally).

Thorough understanding of North American energy market, Company tariffs, physical flow of gas, Company customer base, 24/7/365 obligations of customer service team, and FERC regulations.

Demonstrated leadership ability in a fast paced, high intensity business environment.

On-call responsibilities and extended hours coverage are needed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Indoors 95%; outdoors 5%. Normal office environment. Sitting 85%; standing 10%; bending/stooping/kneeling 5%. Travel required. Motor vehicle records check required.
