The incumbent will provide professional level support and expertise to the Director of Research Information Technology and to the Research Office under minimal supervisio! n. Incumbent will procure, install, and configure Research Office computer hardware and software; setup, maintain, troubleshoot, and resolve IT problems for Research Office personnel; install specialty software for Research Office use; provide in-depth skills, knowledge and interpretive abilities towards creative solutions for the Research Office; analyze information technology systems to insure efficient and effective performance and accessibility; independently and/or as part of a team, plan, coordinate, conduct and implement a wide variety of complex systems analysis, system administration support and /or networking activities necessary to maintain information technology systems, processes, and projects.
The incumbent must serve as a Tier 1 resource contact relative to information technology with primary responsibility for the NRCCE programs of the WVU Research Office.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relat! ed field or an equivalent combination of education and experie! nce. A minimum of 2 years of experience in computer support, systems administration, systems analysis and IT security is required.
