The Registered Nurse, as a professional practitioner, assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. According to the established standards of nursing practice and standards of care, he/she demonstrates an ability to make clinical nursing judgments in an efficient and effective manner. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in th! e coordination of patient care and consistently performs accor! ding to the standards of the profession. He/She may handle human blood and other potentially infectious and/or hazardous materials, which may result in possible exposure to blood borne pathogens and/or harmful elements. This position may have the responsibility for the assessment, treatment and care of the patient in the following age groups: pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric. The Registered Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager/Director of his/her unit.
Qualifications: CA RN license. BLS (within 30 days of employment), ACLS, and PALS. Minimum 2 years experience preferred. Has full command (verbal and written) of the English language. Possess the physical abilities; including heavy lifting, and perceptive acuity, e.g., visual, hearing, to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions. Required to take some call.
