Ochre Recruitment General Medicine/Diabetes Care Our client is seeking a specialist to work in both acute general medicine and diabetes care at their tertiary level teaching hospital, involving a 50:50 split of time with 6 months of Gen Med ward responsibilities and 6 months Diabetes.
Diabetes work will be conducted within the Regional Diabetes Service. There is scope to concentrate on one or more aspects of diabetes but will include diabetes and pregnancy with a particular emphasis on Type 1 diabetes and insulin infusion pump therapy, Type 1 and adolescent medicine, and work with our adult weight management team comprising of endocrinologist, psychologist, dieticians, clinical nurse specialist, and physiotherapists. The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic service of 4 specialists, two registrars and a large multidisciplinary workforce.
General medicine currently has 13 specialists on a 1:6 oncall roster, who share leadership of six teams of registrars and house officers. Most specialists also have an interest in another subspecialty. Our client offers a collegial and supportive environment in a service committed to patient care, training and teamwork.
