This position is responsible to lead associates in our inbound and outbound activities. It requires energy and enthusiasm with a desire to grow. Success is dependent on being self-motivated to meet goals in the areas of safety, productivity, and customer service. Supervisors are provided guidance and tools to achieve expectations and are assigned accountability for results. This requires great communication skills, the ability to problem solve and identify areas for continuous improvement. Ideal candidates would possess a four-year degree with prior supervisory experience a plus. Computer skills are essential. Our supervisors work various shifts, so nights and weekends are a must.
Duties and Responsibilities
Schedules and supervises shipping/receiving associates based on business needs
Conducts daily crew meetings to discuss safety, productivity and quality
Monitors productivity to ensure on-time completion of work; audits work to ensure accuracy and quality expectations are achieved.
Drives production through proper training, removal of barriers, and coaching associates to meet expectations. Maintains accurate daily, weekly, and period production records
Works with associates in adhering to appropriate inventory procedures involving slotting, product rotation, store returns, damage adjustments etc.
Work with other departments (facility maintenance, transportation etc) to coordinate work flow and identify opportunities for improvement in our process.
Supports and participates in all safety focuses maintaining a culture of safety for all associates.
Walks warehouse daily to ensure that conditions related to safety, security, and sanitation are maintained within SUPERVALU’s guidelines
Develops and maintains positive working relationship with all associates, treating others with courtesy, dignity and respect.
Job Requirements
Four year degree preferred
Must be results driven and able to identify opportunities for efficiency improvement.
Knowledge of warehouse operations, and prior experience is helpful
Possess good supervisory skills and the ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results
Possess great communication skills, both verbal and written.
Requires the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities with frequent interruptions
Basic computer skills required; Microsoft Word and Excel skills needed
This position requires significant walking on concrete floors in varying temperatures with occasional bending, stooping and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
