Business Unit Manager

Summary: This position is responsible for developing, analyzing and summarizing financial information for mining properties. Maintaining an intimate knowledge of all projects,! the ability to execute and relentless determination is essential. The position will require initiative, strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Prepare mine operating budgets using Oracle.
§ Prepare and submit capital budgets and justifications.
§ Maintain fixed asset records, perform annual audits and prepare/submit Property Disposal Authorizations for equipment transfers and disposals.
§ Track and analyze daily operating costs including M&S, outside services and labor expenditures.
§ Prepare weekly and monthly reports as needed related to production, costs, sales, safety and financial results.
§ Prepare monthly forecasts utilizing Oracle.
§ Complete special projects and non-routine assignments as may be required by management.
§ May include supervision of clerical personnel.
§ Month-end closing duties.
Additional Expectations:
§ Strong ! proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel and Word)
§ Oracle ! knowledge and experience preferred.
§ Ability to work at detailed, analytical and summary level on projects and assignments with speed and accuracy.
§ Ability to manage multiple complex tasks in an organized, effective manner.
§ Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to present self clearly and articulately.
§ Ability to work overtime as required, while under normal supervision and maintain accuracy while meeting deadlines.
§ Posses good interpersonal skills and be able to function effectively as a participant of a mine management team.
Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have at least 5-10 years accounting experience
Minimum Degree requirement is a B.A. in Accounting
Must have an acute attention for detail, high moral integrity and strong analytical skills
Must be able to handle confidential information appropriately, exhibiting a high degree of maturity and professionalism
Must be a self-! starter with excellent organizational skills to handle a variety of tasks and projects
Must have excellent Application Skills (i.e.: Word, Excel, Power Point, Typing, etc.)
Oracle applications experience is a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary.
Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external contacts
Experience in the coal industry is a bonus
Must be a United States Citizen
