We are currently seeking an HVAC Technician for one of our contracts in Weston, West Virginia.
The position has the following responsibilities:
Basic Function
Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all building systems, this includes but is not limited to: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Protection, and Carpentry Maintenance. Responsible for preventative maintenance on HVAC, Refrigeration equipment and General Facility Maintenance.
Responsibilities/Tasks/Duties
Performs corrective repairs on HVAC / Refrigeration and associated equipment.
Completes preventative maintenance work on HVAC / Refrigeration and associated equipment.
Respond to trouble calls and troubleshoot the systems to meet the operational and comfort needs of the building occupants.
Be proficient in functionality of t! he building systems and understand the sequences required for ! proper building operations.
Assist facilities personnel in other occupations as needed.
Continually review and make recommendations to reduce energy consumption or otherwise make the systems more efficient or its operation more economical
Must be able to adapt to changes in scope of work as business dictates
Maintain a neat, clean, professional appearance in uniform, keep work place neat and put away personal and shop tools daily.
Follow all safe work practices and procedures including but limited to LOTO.
Maintain positive customer relations and with co-workers.
Receives telephone calls and handles them appropriately.
Coordinates and monitors all work requests.
Tracks and assists in resolution of customer issues and follow up.
Perform any and all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma required. Some secondary education preferred.
Requires! a minimum of five years applicable training and comprehensive knowledge in operation, repair and maintenance of plant systems equipment. This includes detailed knowledge in repair of components, which make up commercial HVAC, gas distribution, primary and secondary distributions systems, etc.
Requires Universal CFC certification.
Basic electrical certification needed
Industrial and Commercial HVAC experience in HVAC / Refrigeration maintenance.
Technical training in HVAC design and maintenance preferred.
Ability to read schematics, blue prints, drawings, etc.
Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and guidance.
Ability to use hand power tools.
Good communication skills both verbal and written between coworkers and customers.
Should have good prior safety record and ability to maintain record.
Graduate of a technical or trade school or training in HVAC, Refrigerati! on and Controls.
Understanding NEC codes and practices.
