Registers patients into the hospital information system for all hospital services. Gathers registration information through interview with patient/family/significant other, following appropriate departmental and hospital procedures. Obtains proper signatures on consent forms, collects co-pays and payments on account when deemed necessary and explains appropriate hospital policies. Collects payments on account during times when there is no Cashier on duty. Enters orders in the information system for tests in ancil! lary departments. Performs clerical duties, typing and filing.!
Minimum Education/Training:
High School or equivalent education.
Registration/Certification or License Required:
N/A
Preferred Education:
Higher level of education.
Preferred Experience:
Prior hospital or physician office registration experience.
Strong proven customer relations skills.
Prior experience using medical terminology and/or healthcare experience.
Management Experience (If applicable):
N/A
Physical Requirements:
Continuous sitting, standing, walking.
Continuous keyboard use/repetitive motion.
Ability to lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
Ability to talk and hear via telephone equipment.
Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, stooping, and kneeling.
Able to travel between office and other areas as job requires.
Other Requirements:
Good keyboarding skills. Computer literate.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong aptitude for accuracy and speed.
Communicates effectively with a wide variety of personalities.
Exemplary customer service skills in a teamwork environment maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
THIS IS A TEMPORARY Full time position which will work from 8:30am-5:00pm, 80 hours in a two week pay period.
